PP/PP-HI/silica nanocomposites for HVDC cable insulation: Are silica clusters beneficial for space charge accumulation?

نویسندگان

چکیده

New potential High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) cable insulation materials based on nanocomposites are developed in this study. The produced by blending of polypropylene (PP), propylene-ethylene copolymer (PP–HI) and a modified fumed silica (A-silica) concentration 1 2 wt %. A-silica is successfully with (3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane (APTES) via solvent-free method, as proven infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetry transmission electron microscope mapping. the polymer matrix acts nucleating agent resulting an increase crystallization temperature polymers smaller crystal size. Moreover, addition crystals morphology unfilled PP/PP-HI blend. composite containing wt% contains bigger-size clusters than filled wt%. higher shows lower space charge accumulation current value. Besides, much deeper traps trap density observed compared to one concentration. Surprisingly, presence dimensions more 200 nm exhibit positive effect reducing accumulation. However, real cause improvement might be due change distribution stemming from amine-amine hydrogen bond formation, or chain mobility occluded macromolecules constrained inside high structure clusters. Both phenomena may lead energetic barrier de-trapping, thus increasing depth traps.

Conductivity of Pressboard for HVDC Insulation Systems

The cellulosic material pressboard is a key component in insulation systems for HVDC (high-voltage direct current) equipment. Pressboard compounds are considered from a chemical point of view in order to link it in a subsequent study with electric conduction processes in pressboard. For a better understanding of pressboard, its manufacturing is described and fiber geometry is evaluated by SEM (...

Space Charge Accumulation in Epoxy Based Magnesium Oxide and Boron Nitride Nanocomposites

A phenomenon that is typical in dc insulation is the accumulation of space charge which can significantly enhance the local electric field. This phenomenon is of special importance for polymeric insulation. Accumulation of space charge proved to be a limiting factor for HVDC applications. The goal of this paper is to show the different behavior of epoxy nanocomposites under various dc field str...

Space Charge Accumulation under the Effects of Temperature Gradient on Solid Dielectric Dc Cable

It is well known that existence and accumulation of space charge within the insulating material poses threat to the reliability in the operation of dc power cables. When the cables are loaded under high voltage direct current (HVDC), temperature gradient is developed across the insulation material. In this paper, commercial ac XLPE power cables were used under an application voltage of 80 kV dc...
